About this workshop
This is an introductory workshop Smoother Moving’. Smoother Moving is a Western form of ‘Mindful or Concious Movement’. It differs from Eastern forms, like Yoga, Tai chi and Qigong.
This Western form of Smoother (or Somatic) movement is not yet very well known in the Netherlands, but it has been quite popular in the US and the UK for some years. In short, the goal of somatic movement is to improve the connection between body and mind.
By moving with great attention, you train yourself to be more body-aware and to pick up on your body’s signals more quickly. Smoother moving promotes relaxation, is healing, and helps to make movement easier and more enjoyable. You learn to listen to your body and its needs and move more smoothly!
