Pauline is a passionate amateur dancer since she started taking ballet classes at the age of nine. In high school she took part in many theater performances and developed an interest in dance, movement and theater (play) as forms of non-verbal expression. In her movement classes Pauline’s goal is to facilitate moving with more ease and have lots of fun while learning about your personal movement patterns. Pauline pays a lot of attention to letting go of unnecessary tension, by including meditative and relaxation exercises. Her classes are based upon LBMS and Bartenieff Fundamentals. In Pauline’s classes personal experience and making discoveries at your own pace are core. Somatic Movement is about enhancing awareness of the body and of movement. You will learn how to listen to your body more closely and how to move ‘smoother’, richer and easier. Somatic movement classes increases energy, awareness and relaxation.
Parallel to her legal career, Pauline completed an education in Movement, Dance and Play in 2015. Out of fascination with the underlying Laban Bartenieff Movement System (LBMS), she continued to study Movement Analysis. Since 2022, Pauline is a Somatic Movement Educator, Movement Analyst and Somatic Coach, a dream come true. She is registered with ISMETA (the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association).
Through yoga classes Pauline got in touch with meditation. She has been a Buddhist practitioner and meditator since 2006. She is a certified Mindfulness trainer and teaches meditation and Buddhism at a local Buddhist Center. She also organizes Silent Walks from HYC in Het Haagse Bos. All her activities involve Body as well as Mind.
Pauline teaches her Smoother Movement Class on Monday afternoon. See the schedule here.
